How to Apply Mascara to Make Your Natural Lashes Look Fuller and Thicker

I don't know about you, but we are obsessed with the long, voluminous, thick eyelash look. However, we also know how frustrating (and sometimes messy) it can be to create the perfect false-lash look using mascara. Luckily for you, we're here to share our top tips for creating the dreamiest of lashes, and we promise you won't want to throw your mascara out of the window by the end of it!

Comb your lashes

We always start by combing our lashes gently with a spoolie brush to promote lash growth (not scientifically proven, but it makes us feel good) and ensure all lash hairs point in the correct direction.

Curl your lashes

This step is a game changer and one you need to add to your daily routine for a killer lash lift look. Using your favorite eyelash curler, get as close to the lash line as possible and hold the curlers in position for 10 seconds. Then, repeat on the other eye. This step instantly opens the eye, making you look brighter and more awake.

Tightlining or Liquid Liner

To give the illusion of thicker, darker eyelashes, we love to apply a thin (or thick if you're heading out for the night) line of liquid eyeliner to the upper lid. However, if you don't have the time or prefer a more natural makeup look, there is an age-old trick that makeup artists have been using for years called tightlining. This subtle technique enhances and intensifies the eye area. All you need to do is apply a pencil eyeliner to the top of your eyelid, and BOOM... instantly fuller lashes!

Choose a Lengthening and Volumizing Mascara

Our favorite mascara is, of course, the Fab Superstar Mascara. Not only does this mascara lengthen and volumize the lashes, but it is also enriched with keratin and biotin, which conditions and nourishes your eyelashes for strong, healthy hairs. We trust you'll make the right choice when picking your mascara ;)!

Apply your Mascara

Excellent, you've prepped your eyes and lashes. Now, onto the good stuff! Place the mascara wand at the root of your lash, and wiggle the wand to the tip of your lashes using a zig-zag motion. Repeat and blink as you zig-zag (more straightforward than it sounds) to ensure every lash is coated. The number of times you repeat this step depends on your desired thickness, so keep going until you're happy with the finished look! If you're looking for that new trendy spider eyelash look, make sure you allow the lashes to dry between each coat. If spidery lashes are not your thing, apply more coats while the lashes are still wet. Remember to repeat on your lower lashes!

Tip: If you apply too much mascara or your lashes begin to look clumpy, take a clean spoolie brush and brush the eyelashes through to remove the excess.

Let us know how you get on, happy lashing!
